I will be pretty strict about it, and then I get lax about it! I tell the kids, there really is no need to have an entire day set aside to "clean out" their rooms if they would just pick up after themselves as they go about their days. Easier said than done!

My kids don't like noise or light when they sleep, so I really lucked out there!! They also like to sleep in the same room and that doesn't bother me yet; they are 10, 8, and 6 and I'm sure will be wanting their "space" soon enough!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4254362160218029136.post-55320247502637487012012-04-06T11:41:42.920-05:002012-04-06T11:41:42.920-05:00Sounds like you have made some awesome progress!
...Sounds like you have made some awesome progress!
My boys share a room until we move and yes they fall asleep with a movie playing. For my youngest who is a light sleeper the constant nosie keeps he out.
And the picking up well we go in spurts some weeks the kids will gladly help clean up and others its an all out battle.
I have decided when we move to our new house that there will be lots of things changing since the boys will have their own rooms I don't want two tvs going either. However I'm not sure I am ready for the battle....Shelleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03358230869109786915noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4254362160218029136.post-17059498205008483202012-04-06T11:02:47.742-05:002012-04-06T11:02:47.742-05:00Sounds like you are making good parenting decision...Sounds like you are making good parenting decisions and making the effort to teach your children well. Worked great. And she is JUST like Sarah in the picking up! She will come up with any excuse imaginable and argue forever rather than take the two seconds to pick up her shoes (or toy or plate). She's not done with it. She's going to play with it. She might need it in the morning yadda yadda yadda!Andreahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03389125942067354914noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4254362160218029136.post-35824018460876314922012-04-06T10:27:17.903-05:002012-04-06T10:27:17.903-05:00Oh yes.... I started it :( But we now have all 3 girls sleeping in THEIR beds ALL night every night!
And we no longer have to lay with them while they fall asleep! Prayers, hugs and kisses and they are out!
Long long battle... but all better now :o)

**I have always gone to sleep watching tv - keeps my mind from wandering ;o)Nelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12565128618632839097noreply@blogger.com
