Fingernail Polish and Being Girly

Josh took the kids outside to play yesterday evening, and I stayed inside for a few minutes while I finished painting my finger nails. As I sat on the couch, my task almost complete, I heard Sarah come in from the deck door. She walked into the living room, sat down beside me and said, "Mommy, will you paint my fingernails, too?"

My heart leapt with joy. Really.

She is almost four, but this was the first time she had ever shown interest in painting her nails. I have offered many, many times. I've tried to show her pretty pink colors (because she LOVES pink) with no success. I chalk it up to her having a big brother...he encourages her to play with dinosaurs and Batman you know.

But for whatever reason, she initiated the painting process yesterday. And it was so fun. After I finished her fingernails, she asked me to do her toenails, too!

What a fun "first" yesterday. I was giddy about it all evening. And as we took a walk together as a family, she just had to stop by Miss Kim's house to show her. Of course, Miss Kim was as sweet as can be and told her how beautiful she looked.

She does look beautiful. Every day.

So perhaps my little girl will be a little girly after all. With two brothers, there's no telling!

As I wrote the last line of this blog entry, Sarah came walking into our room and said, "Mommy, will you help me put on this Batman costume?" I just had to laugh!

LOL! Love the Batman costume. You did a great job painting them, I hope that I am that good when Bailee wants hers done.

Kate had me paint her toenails yesterday too! I cannot wait until we can go and get a pedicure together when she is older. The batman is pretty cool too though!

This post made me smile!

I can wait (because I don't want to rush a moment!!) but it is going to be so much fun when my daughter is old enough for me to paint her nails :)

And, I had to laugh when I saw the Batman costume. Noelle will be two this month but she's already starting dressing up in her brother's superhero costumes. I am just happy she like tu-tus as well :)

Happy Monday! Hope your week ahead is a lovely one!
