Times Have Changed

Are you a nursing mother? Bottoms up! (My grandma actually mentioned this when I first started nursing. I told her it wasn't exactly what my doctor recommended.)

Who says smoking is bad for you? (This doesn't surprise me.)

I'm in the chubbies club. (Can you even imagine this terminology being ok?)

Which one caught your eye?

Very interesting! I do like the Lane Bryant ad. I do wonder though if we did have ads that were more blunt like Chubby and Fat would it change our attitudes to the better or worse? Something for me to ponder. Thanks!

Hmm...I don't know. If I walked into a store that called me chubbie, would it hurt my self image or would I work on my weight so that I didn't have to go there? Not sure. I won't even go into Lane Bryant because I know what it's for. I'm in denial! ;o)

I have been in denial for many many years. Today, I went to go get my licenses renewed and when the lady ask me if my height and weight were different I said yes. I gave her my new weight minus 20lbs. I thought it was a step in the right direction.

I didn't know Lane Bryant was that old of a company! I can't believe that and the other ads! They just wouldn't cut it in today's sensitive society.
The worst one was the man spanking his wife. So along with labeling girls as chubby, they endorse physical abuse? WOW.

When I was younger, I shopped at Sears and I was a "pretty plus" and my brother was "husky".
Too funny.
People are constantly still saying it is good to have some alcohol to let your milk down (yikes) and just recently I have been told it is ok for pregnant women drink wine.
What????
I watched one of those shows on women who are pregnant and don't know it and a doctor said "There is no known amount of alcohol that is safe to consume during pregnancy".
Why chance it?
Sorry, just a little tirade on things I think about!!!

I love reading old ads..what was acceptable and common is quite interesting. The chubbie sized kills me!

Oh my how times have changed. I might be chubby but I don't want a company cheerfully calling me that!

These are just too funny! I love that they mentioned the "chubby" clothes are for sale at the same price as "regular sizes" awesome. I now want a Chubby Fashion book. :)
