Happy 32nd anniversary to my parents today!
A little church, a simple wedding (and by the way, you can now see where my sons get their height).
My mom's bridesmaids.
The groomsmen, jokingly trying to keep him from leaving! Remember when I wrote about Maegan? Her dad is the blue suit in the middle, smiling big.
Aww...
Off to begin their life together...
Mom & Dad - I love you so much. Thank you for teaching me what marriage means.
Remember when I was young and so were you
and time stood still and love was all we knew
You were the first, so was I
We made love and then you cried
Remember when
Remember when we vowed the vows
and walked the walk
Gave our hearts, made the start, it was hard
We lived and learned, life threw curves
There was joy, there was hurt
Remember when
Remember when old ones died and new were born
And life was changed, disassembled, rearranged
We came together, fell apart
And broke each other's hearts
Remember when
Remember when the sound of little feet
was the music
We danced to week to week
Brought back the love, we found trust
Vowed we'd never give it up
Remember when
Remember when thirty seemed so old
Now lookin' back it's just a steppin' stone
To where we are,
Where we've been
Said we'd do it all again
Remember when
Remember when we said when we turned gray
When the children grow up and move away
We won't be sad, we'll be glad
For all the life we've had
And we'll remember when

Rachel
Thank you, Christina. and I LOVE the song!!!
I made a slide show for my parents about 5 years ago using that song! Brought tears to my eyes...love it!
happy anniversary to them! They look just wonderful. What an accomplishment!
Just beautiful!!!
What an awesome example to follow.
I love your mom's dress and her bridesmaids. They would be something I would of laughed years ago, but today cherish.
One of my aunts had all her bridesmaids wear white eyelet with different colors of ribbon through the holes- a different color for each girl. :)
I am praying each of my kids have their wedding in the church with a small reception somewhere inexpensive- preferablly the church basement- if we have money to give them, I want it to go to a house and not a wedding.
Thanks so much for sharing!
What a lovely post and sweet tribute to your mom and dad! I adore looking at old wedding photos...the weddings seem simpler and lovely. That Alan Jackson song gets me every time...I always cry. It is a poignant message and so wonderful.
Thanks for stopping by my blog. Great post. I love old photos. Congrats to your mom and dad on 32 years of marriage!
