It's Short. Very Short.

I would say that most of my friends who have little boys cut their hair very short. A buzz cut if you will. It's cute.

From the beginning, I have never done that with my little guys, though. I know where it started. It was when I saw the cutest picture of Josh when he was small, two years old to be exact.

And since Caleb had his auburn hair, I knew I wanted him to look just like that. The color was too pretty to cut off.

I admit that more often than not, I wait far too long to get their hair cut. Most of the time, it's over their ears and almost in their eyes. Gabriel, for example, was looking a bit shaggy lately...

So while I was gone to a women's conference thingy at church today, Josh took him to get his hair cut.

This is the first time I've let him take one of our boys to get their hair cut. Weird? Maybe. Call me particular.

But now...

...it's short.

Very short.

And I almost want to cry.

It will be okay! It will grow back (probably thicker than before.) He looks cute no matter what the cut!

Oh My! And you waited so long for it to grow out when he was an infant! Hopefully Josh sees your point of view on this topic!

Oh man!!!!!! I have the same strong feelings about buzz cuts. It looks cute on some children...but not on our boys. They had such gorgeous hair. I know men look at things like this differently than we do. They look at the fact that it is easier to take care of, drys fast, won't get in his eyes, etc.

Trust me...its not just Josh. I showed Will your article and the pictures. He didn't see the problem. He thought it looks good. lol

They do look cute...no matter what. :-) sigh...but hopefully you will be able to help Josh to understand how much it would mean to you to have it grown out.

I'm praying for you all! :-)

He is adorable.
We buzz the boys in the summer and I love it. Then it grows back. One son has neat hair and the other one has too many cowlicks, but both are cute.
My husband takes the boys a lot to get their hair cut and I just look at it as a bonding time for the men folk. They love to go with their dad. And sometimes, I just buzz it myself. But they prefer to be with dad.
What did the grandparents think? Or have they seen it?
Grandparents usually like it long- just speaking from my own experience.
lol
Have a great Sunday- glad to see you feeling better.

Yes it will grow out, but he's your baby. Pout for a day, and make a mental note to be the one to take him next time.
They will probably grow up and zip it all off because their "crazy mom would never let them as kids!"
My youngest loves winter because I let him have "bangs". In the summer I cut it all off so I can see the ticks!

She just said he still looks handsome....I asked for a "little boys cut" and Gabriel wasn't that cooperative!

While I agree that he looks cute as a button with his shorn head, I can relate to the desire to cry. My daughters had rocky love affairs with scissors and self-administered haircuts when they were toddlers, and it would break my heart to pieces to have to have their hair cut almost boy-short because they chopped a chunk out of the scalp! They've been banned from using scissors that aren't on their desks at school for many, MANY years. LOL He definitely looked more adorable with his longer hair!! Hopefully it will come back in with lightning speed. *hugs*

It also took me forever to get Hayden's hair cut, as it was so patchy for so long and I was hoping that he got some of my natural curls... he didn't. I also wanted his double cowlicks to lay down so wanted to keep his hair longer. We now buzz it, except for on top where we leave it long enough to spike. He looks adorable, but very much a little boy, not a baby anymore. I personally love the new haircut for your little guy!

I'm sure you've seen my sons golden curls on my facebook. The first time his dad took him for a haircut, it looked like Gabriel's. The curls haven't been the same since. I understand what you're experiencing.
