Sorry, Not Today.

When I wrote this post asking you to tell me what you felt it meant when someone says, "God answers prayer," I had it in my mind that I was going to disclose my feelings and include my struggles.

After I wrote an entry, probably the longest one I've ever written, I looked over it and I realized that it was not bringing honor to God and it's possible that it could cause others to stumble.

So I just can't share it.

I do agree with Joel's comment when he said, "I've learned that my prayers are so many times less about getting an answer to my questions and [more about] honoring Him with my time so that He can speak to me those words that He knows I need."

And I still cling to the words of this song:

I am not skilled to understand...what God has willed what God has planned. I only know at His right hand...stands One who is my Savior.

Hopefully I will gain wisdom in this area and will be able to share how I came through this time of confusion in my life.

But today is not that day.

I will be praying for you, and as Christians, Jesus is also praying over us-how cool is that? It's unfortunate that choosing to be a Christian doesn't necessarily make our lives easier or mean we'll get the answers we seek, but it does mean that one day soon, we'll no longer have to deal with any of this! We will no longer be confused!!! I, for one, am longing for that day!

It takes a lot of wisdom to not publish something like that, Chrissy. Especially when everyone is "entitled" to expressing their own opinion.

Good work. Maybe you can save it for later and you can read it to see how you've grown over time?

And you are past 503 readers! With not a lot of gimmicks like giveaways!!!! WHOO HOO! You are blogging with substance!

I didn't go back and read the other post but I will later. I agree, that you would never want to stumble others and you'd only want to give God glory. However, I don't agree with the lyric you put about not being skilled to understand what God has willed or what he has planned. I think he's made his plan and purpose clear in the bible. Not everyone can truly understand His purpose however.

Found you through NFF, thanks!

@Debbie - I think the song lyric means that humans aren't capable of knowing all the things and reasons God does because God is all powerful and so much smarter than we are. I agree the Bible and prayer and petition can illuminate the path we should try for... but I don' think its a really clear roadmap. Def. not as clear as Chrissy's Garmin!
